CASE STUDY: Hydraulic Oil Spill Clean-up & Recovery at O’Hare Airport

Cyclone Solutions: Hydraulic Oil Spill Clean-up & Recovery
O’Hare Fleet Services oil spill clean-up at O’Hare Airports’ International Terminal

  • In this case, a hydraulic line was severed while a cargo-plane was being taxied to the International Terminal @ O’Hare International Airport. This occurred during a heavy traffic period at the airport and in turn, planes, cargo loaders, and many other vehicles tracked the oil across two different terminals.
  • A contracting group, O’Hare Fleet Services, who operate a Cyclone CY5000 & TR5500 throughout the airport were notified of the oil spill. They were able to initiate a fast and effective response to the oil spill by deploying their Cyclone Equipment to the scene of the oil spill. With ease they were able to cover thousands of square feet of space, both recovering the spilled hydraulic oil and giving the surface a deep clean.
  • The Cyclone CY5X00 model has already proven to be an asset for gate, ramp, and taxi-way cleaning. The use of 4,350 psi and continual recovery has shown that it can be utilized for oil and jet fuel clean-up.
